Emmylou was not at the gig she was either in that leading or ending waltzing around shot. The Candian connection is an interesting one but I not felling it.Ronnie Hawkins who gave the Band their real break in his band from Canada makes the most sense. I still get very enoyed at the way the original was cleaned up to this sterile concert film.Yes Neil Young had a bad start and a rock of coke hanging out of his nose ,Dylan had that theater make-up on which not a sole knew why and it's it's all gone now .I also have been rethinking how far back the Band and the Dead actually have known each other. The earliest I know about was the east to west Festival train and you clearly see Garcia and Rick Danko having a grand ole time. Then there was the mega tour also w/ the Allmans at Roosevelt Stadium,Watkins Glen and also which many have forgoten because I think both their sets sucked was at Woodstock.

All in all, one hell of a shindig. Especially since we're still dissecting it 35+ years later.
